Kein Haus

Well, We finally made it back home. That word"home" has taken on new meaning over the past couple of days/weeks. Steph was saying that she did not know what to call home, I don't know either. When I was back in CA, it felt good, but it was not where we lived. I was telling myself that home was where the heart is, but I still did not know where my heart was. It was good seeing our family and friends. It was strange driving somewhere without really thinking about it, and then halfway there wondering where I was going; or even how I remembered to get there. I certainly did miss the weather. I haven't seen blue skies in quite a while. Then the 2nd week, Germany followed us and it rained until it was time to go home; to more rain here too. The trip "home" really helped to concrete my decisions. I needed that. I just wish that I did not come home to a time change and an exercise at the same time. Do they plan these things after every holiday/big event now?
Well, it was good to see everyone, even the one that I was not so sure that I wanted to see. I feel like I AM doing something and it IS worthwhile. I will post more pictures throughout the weeks, and now that we can print them, if you want one; let us know. By the way, I just got an aweome pic of Steph. She blinked right when i took it and it looks like her eyes are ghosts, maybe she can let me post it someday.

This was a movie, I thought that it would let you play these 2 seals fighting for the platform, but it just turns out to be a crappy picture. Sorry. Posted by Hello

Neues Hosen

Home at last. I can't believe that Mike comes and picks us up in shorts, what are those? I was wearing a sweater and Steph a light jacket. On the ride home we had to hit up In and Out Burger. The weather had been dreamy, and I mean that in its true sense. It has been mid 60's. We did not know what to pack for back in Germany. I have been driving around in our rented Jeep Liberty, and it has been amazing how I remember which roads to take and where they lead. I am not lost at all here. It has really hit me that this is home. This is where we grew up and where we know. I love it here.

Bis Morgen

So I am leaving tomorrow. I guess we have to wake up at about 0600. This will be the longest day that has ever existed. I can't wait to see friends, family, and fhopping. Shopping did not start with an "f" and I wanted to keep it alliterative. Well If you are reading this, I will see you soon; that assuming that a) you are reading this and b) you live in California.

Roehren

I really tried, really I did. I went into work with a good attitude. I was happy. There are only 6 more days till I get to come home and relax for a whole 2 weeks. Then they just came in on me, beating me down again. Boom! Vehicles, Boom! Alarms, Boom! Training. What do they want from me? I can't wait to get away from work that is for certain.
Steph and I tried working out after work, but it was crazy packed. Why, pray tell, do we need to do gym time in pajama bottoms? Seriously, I know for sure that you could afford something a little better, or even the stuff that was given to you to serve such a purpose.
So I am still waiting to hear whether or not I got the promotion. The boss-man is trying to get a hold of the information for me before I go on leave. I don't think that I will know by that time. I certainly would not tell my troop until everyone knew.
I got a few new ribbons, and now I feel like I have a few, even though I only have 5.
Wow, there is not a whole lot to say............

Ganz genau

Today we drove down to Ramstein to get some training on some alarm stuff. It was weird driving an hour in my truck going slow as dirt and thinking that any second the truck will blow up. It has never gone faster than 50 kph. I as crammed with 3 people in a truck with no radio. Now, this caravan of 18 men in the military still needs potty breaks? Yeah, what the heck? We finally get there and after about 2 hours of this guy talking so far above my head that I fall asleep, it's Chili's time! Heck yeah! Let's be honest, that was the only reason that we drove here. The "class" was just to legitimatize it. Well as you could imagine, Chili's is quite a hot topic being the only place like that in Germany. It took us like 2 hours in there, and the wait to get a table was not even all that bad. There are out of all sorts of food too. I am still stuffed and that was about 4 hours ago.
I have decided that I am not going to soccer practice tonight. I think it to be pointless, you see; after next week, I will be gone for 2 weeks. I am going to start it up again after that and furthermore, the weather sucks. How bad? Well, Steph washed one of my jackets and hung it outside to dry, when she checked on it 30 minutes later, it was frozen.
So this time next week, I will be on an airplane on a much needed break.
Tschuss.

Viel kalt aus.

It is lunch time and I am surfing the internet to try and find bands that I have not heard of yet. There is so much music out there. I am still looking for the music that I heard while waiting for movies to start back in San Jose a few years ago. No one there knew who it was, they all said that it was just the radio. It was 9 F this morning coming to work. It is still really cold. I don't know how people could live thier lives in such weather, let alone play soccer. My hands have been chapped and my lips are cracking. I am tired of the taste of Chapstick. I am getting more and more excited to come back home for 2 weeks. I wonder if that will be enough. Last time we were home it was only 1 week and that was not nearly enough. I wonder if when I get there, I will miss being here. I am very much like that, the grass is always greener for me. There are a lot of people leaving here pretty soon. It certainly makes a guy think.
My car threw a belt the other day. I was happy that it happened right when I got to work, the garage is literally right across the street. I was thinking that we just got back for Luxembourg the other day. I could not imagine what I would do if it fell off on the autobahn in Luxembourg.
Well I am still waiting to find out if I got the promotion.
